Roman coins and star notes
I have a friend that has seven Roman coins that are between AG and poor so you can hardly see any design. They're made of copper and they're each about as big as a dime. How much are they worth?
Also, are star notes worth any more than face value? |

Thanks. I'll try it. How about the star notes?

Re: Roman coins and star notes
How about some more info about the Star note, like year, condition and denomination. A scan would also be helpful.

Roman and Greek coins are in most cases Chinese coins and I wouldn`t pay more than metal scrap price for them (and then selling them to collectors).

Re: Roman coins and star notes
Very poor condition Roman bronze coins are worth very little - I've seen them in bins for $3-5 each, or less in bulk online. The Roman empire was around for a LONG time and made a LOT of coins at a LOT of different mints. But if you want something thousands of years old for a few bucks, go for it!
Or, I spent like $35 and got a very nice condition Roman silver coin, I find it much more enjoyable. I bought it through http://www.forumancientcoins.com/ . I like them a lot - they show you pics of the actual coin you will receive. I don't think star notes are worth much. They don't seem to be that rare. Maybe in perfect condition they're worth a little more than face value to the right person. |

I found three star notes in circulation; I'm not officially collecting them. |
